Dinner at Park Kitchen + First Thursday Art Walk - The Pearl

Fine dining and fine art: it's a one-two punch that would impress anyone visiting Portland, parents included. Obviously this perfect night is a matter of timing, so plan ahead by making a dinner reservation at Park Kitchen for the first Thursday of the month.

Start the night off right with a dinner at Park Kitchen, one of Portland's most famous and award-winning restaurants, located in the Park Blocks. This is a small, intimate dining experience where you can watch your food be cooked in the open kitchen. The food is unique and delicious with a distinct Portland flair.

After boozing and eating, you can walk just a few blocks over to enjoy Gallery Walk in the Pearl, which lasts from 6 PM to 9 PM. You can print out a handy map by clicking on the image below. Also, PADA keeps on updated list of galleries and openings on their site.

Not to be confused with hippy dippy Last Thursday Art Walk on Alberta, this art walk takes place in the Pearl where you can cruise around from gallery to gallery, casually nibbling crackers and drinking free wine. The Pearl is a beautiful neighborhood that always impresses parents, plus the galleries are gorgeous and take the event seriously, launching new exhibits on every first Thursday.

An older, upscale crowd attends this event, so your parents will likely feel right at home. The night lasts from 6 PM to 9 PM, and you can print out a handy map by clicking here. Also, PADA keeps on updated list of galleries and openings on their site.

Do I have to mention the free wine again?
